G3 W16

Weird School!

Christmas!

Diversity and Many-facetedness!

Every Sunday, when we have lunch with Uncle Lin, you are my Biggest Little Helper.
I usually go order the food while you help me fill our 3 cups with water from the Soda Fountain.
Then, by the time the lady is done with my order, you will usually show up to come help me carry some of the food to the table. Then, I would get the utensils, "plates" and napkins.  You will proceed to help me peel the plastic off of the utensils and set the table. Also, when you remember, you will try to get some packets of pepper for Daddy and Uncle Lin.

Super proud of my Biggest Little Helper.

Then, there was the time when daddy cut off the constricting tops of his socks, and you used them as hand warmers.

Library time is always extra special with Cindy around to play games with, that's for sure.

We stopped by the indoor playground at the church near our house, and we never know if there are other kids who will be there for you to play with.

No matter the situation, you always try to make the best of it.

Look at that perfect little boy. :)

Weird School ness!

Mo Willems!

Thanksgiving!

Humanity!

Monsters and Ghoulies!

We also managed to have lunch with Cindy and the kids before they left to go back to Fort Worth.

Seeing how it's the season and all, you helped me make a Pumpkin Cheesecake :)

And you couldn't believe it when we found a giant tumbleweed in the front yard one morning :)

Aw, look at that perfect little curly head.

Hopefully we'll get some of these memorized before long :)

And it's not every day you have a carrot boot on your head.

The Pomegranate Bib

One can't have Pomegranate without t-shirt casualty, but not on Mommy's watch.

G3 W14 Thanksgiving

We did some school work in the Thanksgiving vein.

We looked up how to make Corn Husk Dolls, and I soaked some fresh corn husks that we had in tea for a bit, then dried them in the oven.

You had a bit of trouble at first, but with your nimble fingers, you soon had an authentic looking doll whipped up.

We also tried to make more things out of the recyclables we had, with a Thanksgiving theme in mind.  You  decided you wanted to make something to represent The Mayflower.

We continued our Lego Challenge with "Make a Turkey that is at least 6" tall".

We did some copy work, and let's just say that You Like To Embellish.

We made some time for Kinect as a way to exercise.

This is just a random photo of you having fun playing with a mound of nuts. *sigh*

Again, a random breakfast shot.

You love helping, and this time of year, you love making the Cranberry Relish.

I let you use a knife under close supervision, and we talked about how cranberries float in bogs because of all the air pockets in them.

You helped clean and separate the squishy ones from the good ones.

You wanted to cut the navel oranges, and we tried to cut in the safest way.

Grinding the cranberries and oranges though, was another matter. It took all of your strength to turn that thing, and Daddy came to lend a hand :)

Next, we mixed in the Stevia, and voila, Cranberry Orange Relish.
Next, we got out some pipe cleaners and Playdoh, and tried to make a Wompanoag Wetu.

We Love Cousins

be they first or second, once or twice removed.

When Frances was here with the kids at Thanksgiving, we got to hang out with them in the Hamby home, where they were staying, for a bit.

It is a super lovely home, with many souvenirs and artifacts from their many travels.
20171124_192517-001
You had a wondrous time with them playing 20 questions, and requested "Again!" over and over and over.

When it was time to go, you were obviously reluctant, and I couldn't blame you.

We don't get to see them nearly enough, but we try to make full use of the time that they are available to visit with :)

I actually think I had a merging of weeks with this picture. I remember posting it for G3 W12, but then realised there were more precious ones that I hadn't posted.

All little boys need a Teddy and a Ted Brown.

We've been continuing practising Piano, and you are such a natural, that you just pick things up so quickly.

You love just tinkering with the piano whenever you have some free time, and have figured out many of the Super Mario tunes.

School ! Cutting ! Gluing ! Learning !

You LOVE to play board games whenever you can.  Sometimes I have to be doing something else, and it always makes me feel too guilty when I have to say, "No, I can't right now".  I usually end up playing with you, though. I mean, who can resist that face.

Okay, here we are having a brain break in between subjects - this one needed you to get up and get moving.

Yeah, it ended up with you kind of crumpled up on my bed.

Momma's little helper helping prepare one of your favorite fruits - POMEGRANATE!

AND, Cindy's BAAAAAACK! If ever a little boy and his aunt loved each other to bits, these two would be them.

We decided that the day was lovely enough to be able to spend at the playground.

The leaves were starting to turn beautiful fall shades,

and swings just make a lot of things much better.

as well as low-branched trees that you are not afraid to climb up.

Love you, little boy :)
