12 Month Visit

Hey little boy :) You turned a year old today.. We had a birthday "party" for you at Taco Tuesday, but mummy hasn't put up that post yet on the other blog. I hope to get it up tomorrow.

Meanwhile, since the figures are still fresh in my mind, here's your "vital statistics" for today's "well child" visit

Weight : 23lbs 2 oz.
Height : 29 3/4 inches

I can never remember the head circumferences. :P

The doctor examined you and said you were doing very well. We deferred your shots till tomorrow so you didn't have to have them on your birthday / get cranky from them for your party.

You are now allowed to eat pretty much anything, except obviously things that you could choke on. Also, the doctor advised that over the next month, to change you over to 2% milk and not more than 18 ounces a day. We're gonna have to go to the grocery store because all we have is either formula, fat free or , of the human kind... which you are still getting some of, but which I suspect is going to be dried up for real, pretty soon.

I still have "backdated" posts for this blog, but for some reason, I have not been able to get them on here... various things crop up all over the place.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. We love you, sweet boy :)

Big Boy Carseat

Your "at least 20lbs and a year old" car seat came via UPS yesterday...

Behold the Recaro Young Sport!

Photobucket

We bought it from Diapers.com, where the price was already discounted compared to the local store that had it, and we had a 15% discount code on top of that, which gave us a savings of $80 off the MSRP,, complete with free shipping. Hehe.

And it's made by a company that manufactures race car seats no less. It's got amazing reviews and doesn't look too shabby either.

The next 12 days can't come fast enough for your dad and me.. we're sooo excited at the prospect of you facing forward ... what adventures we'll have!

Nap time consolidation

Looks like you've gone down from the initial "perpetually all day" sleeping pattern to the 4, then 3, then 2 and now 1 nap a day. In the past 2 days, you haven't really had your morning nap, and it doesn't seem to bother you very much. When you DO finally take your nap, though, you have slept for 2 hours compared to your usual 1/2 hour stints.

What to make of this .... part of the maturation process ?

Just as long as you get enough rest, child. :)
