Easter Parade

Before I start, let's just have it on record that your parents were the ones who let you romp all over the place, in the sandbox, on the grass, and even in the rain and mud, in your Sunday best. :)

Of course we had gotten your shirt a few weeks before from the mall, with the little tie making it over the top adorable.

Of course, somewhere along the way, you start looking out the screened back window longingly.....and so mama takes the tie off,

Photobucket

and rolls up the sleeves...

Photobucket

and lets you romp to your heart's content...

Photobucket

and of course you make a beeline for the sandbox

Photobucket

as well as any other spot that has sand..

Photobucket

After playing by yourself for a while, you spot the others

Photobucket

and decide you might want to go play with them for a bit....

Photobucket

until Max starts coming after you playfully with the large beach ball. ( LOL, I think your faces say it all )

Photobucket

Of course, there was the Egg Hunt, which you can read all about HERE,

Photobucket

followed by, the by now famous rain dance episode, ending up with a very disheveled and wet but happy little boy :)

Now you see it...

Your thing about wanting to stash everything into the trash can has lessened quite a bit,

but you still have the propensity for wanting to put things away in all kinds of nooks and crannies and UNDER stuff.

eg.

Under the Door into the next room

Under the Treadmill

And to think

that there was a time when I wondered if you would ever learn to climb the steps leading up to the slide....

Heart Stopper

We go to Grandad's house so often, several times a week, that you have plenty of opportunities to explore just about every nook and cranny that is available to you.

There are some spots that are no-no's, which we have to keep removing you from, though..

THIS is one of them.

Closet Exhibitionist / Streaker

It's been quite a while now since you were able to take your diaper off and run around ( and even pee on the carpet/rug on occasion ), but you haven't quite been able to take your top off - at least not that I know of......

till a couple of nights ago.

I had put you in your PJs, and then stepped out of the room for a few minutes to do something, and when I came back in, this was what I saw.

Photobucket

Yes, and you NEED to be further from the screen, I know.

More Adventures in Pancake Art

You IMMEDIATELY recognized who THIS was :)

I think I see the resemblance too! :)

The Hippo Pool Revisited

The weather has been getting pretty warm, and so I thought that it was time to dust off the Hippo Pool and drag it out of the shed for some pool time.

A Year Ago, we got you the pool and while you did have fun,

Photobucket

it seems like THIS year, you're just totally loving it!

And your swim clothes still fit! :)

Of course, at the end of it, we had one exhausted little boy who took a long long nap...

Winning with Weaning?

Photobucket

For the last 3 weeks or so, I have tried every other way, other than nursing, to get you soothed back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night or from a nap. You have done very well and we haven't nursed during "sleepytimes" for roughly 3 weeks now.

I've also been "observing" the "don't offer unless asked" policy during the daytime. Used to, you would come to me and ask for "yaya"s at just about any time of the day. When the nighttime nursing got less and less, it seems like you asked for "yaya"s less and less during the day too. Of course when you get upset, one of the first things you still say is, "YA YA!!!!"

Today, you went through a whole entire day ( and night ) without asking for Yayas even once!

*deep breath*

I won't hold my breath just yet, though. Little boys can be very arbitrary.

I remember maybe a year ago, when you had herpangina and refused to nurse because it hurt too much.... I wasn't quite ready to stop yet - there was quite the sadness/grief/feeling of loss on my part. But this time, I think both YOU and I may just be ready.

Let's do this :)

Well Child Clinic

We had a visit to Dr. Riley's clinic today for your 2-year-old well child clinic appointment.

No, you were not banished to the corner to stare at a chair, but you actually had some stickers that you had placed on the chair and then you twirled the chair round and round, gleefully watching them disappear under the table and then reappearing again.

The pediatrician was really pleased with your growth and development, even though you were basically screaming whenever he wanted to examine you. :)

You also had to have 2 shots, but you were a brave little boy and cried only for half a minute.

Statistics at this visit

height: 36" (87th percentile )
weight: 33 lbs ( 93rd percentile )

Alphabet Pancakes

Okay, so this video is so roughly put together it shouldn't even be posted, but I haven't had the time to "properly" edit one yet, so this will have to do, my little speller!
