Every week, I still marvel at how much and how wide we read :)

YOU read, really. So much of the time now, we are not able to have our night reading, and you do it on your own time now.

I still try to borrow books that we can read together. I really still enjoy those times.

Oh, and guess who decided to do a selfie after taking photos of the library books.

We continued some experiments on soil and rocks, and did some filtration this time around.

You did your second to last DIY Japanese treat thingy that you got from the Richmond Tans for Christmas,

and we got to meet Jaylen and Braeden, even if briefly, at Sunrise.  I know everyone looks kind of glum in this photo, but I can assure you, there was much smiling that day :)

LOVE YOU to bits :)

This week, I decided not to go look for replacement pictures for the photos you have taken of the books....really because I don't have the time :)

I would like to think that I have at least tried to expose you to a wide variety of subjects and cultures, that your interest of the world in general will have been piqued.

School goes on as usual, using my computer a lot of the time, then going on to self work.

We studied soil and did a few experiments - your favorite kind of school :)

We revised what we had learned about fossils and did another experiment.

We compared your handprints to those from.. was it last year or 2 years ago? This was the activity where once the children completed their summer reading, they let you put your handprint on a pillar inside the library.  See how much bigger your hand it :)

And then there was the time you drew Charlie Brown at his pondering wall. :)

Uno Tippo is always fun, eh? :)

And then there's the Jaxon-Silky Dynamic :)
More like Dynamic Duo :)

And there was the time you were Carnac the Magnificent, and had some mega random moves in Walmart. :)

And also the time you went all Jurassic Park on us at the park in Breckenridge. :)

Read! Read! Read!

Learn! Learn! Learn!

Expand. Your. Mind!

Have. Fun. Reading!

Stories. From. All. Over!

We did the Starburst Rock Cycle Experiment, which was pretty interesting and made it easier to remember the processes and the different types.

The last part involved heating up for "metamorphosis" :)

We also dug up a little bit of dirt to observe what it was made up of..

And we learned about the Declaration of Independence,

and you retrieved a box of Cars Toys that you hadn't played with in a while.  Toys that hadn't been played with for a bit seem fresh and new again.

You helped me de-seed cherries for lunch,

and we walked through the Oliver Jeffers Exhibition as part of the CALF happenings around town.

Then, we walked over to by the train tracks and the sculptures downtown..

where there were plenty of Photo Ops :)

Oh, and you couldn't resist taking a bite out of this huge Burger Display.

We visited the outdoor area at McDonald's that used to be a haven for a certain little boy when The Men were inside chatting.  Gone are the trees and cover overhead though.
*sigh*

Cats are Liquid

Overheard at our house:

Jaxon: Mommy, cats are liquid. You know how?

Mommy : Oh? How?

Jaxon : Yeah, cats have volume, but no definite shape. And they take the form of whatever container they're in!

Mommy :🤣

A Reading We Will Go....

By now, you might have read more books than Daddy and I combined :)

When I was at University ( both times ), I would scour the shelves for books I never had the opportunity to come across as a child.

I am so thankful for our library and all its amenities.

Here's the result from last week's shake-a-rama levels of soil experiment. Pretty Cool.

We learned about Jamestown and Roanoke ( spooky wooooooo ),

up till what caused the Revolution to happen.

We learned about minerals and did experiments on mineral hardness..

And learned about different kinds of rocks.

Whenever there is a computer available at the library, you like to make all sorts of art. You get to save them in the system, so you can come back and pull them up another time!

Oh, and we managed to squeeze in a game of Monopoly Gamer.
