Story Time

You have quite the imagination, and are always getting your toys to have these conversations with each other.

Yesterday, you were playing with one of the coloring apps on the little Samsung tablet, were coloring a picture of an apple tree.

I've had to recreate it with Paint to illustrate the point ( er, is there a pun in there somewhere? )

ANYWAY, pretty much the picture looked like this.

a05005480

You came running to me while I was cooking in the kitchen to tell me all about the picture..

"There was an apple tree, see, mummy? And the children wanted to get the apples, but they were too high up! So the children ran away because they couldn't get to the apples and now the tree is by himself."

followed by

"Now you have to draw a ladder for the children, mummy"

Old Friends Revisited

There was a time when you were crazy about CARS

And then you went on this Angry Birds kick for a bit. ( more pics on that later )

Now, even though you still go back to your angry birds just about every day, you aren't quite as obsessive about them as before.  You don't ask to watch angry birds videos and what not anymore, but have recently gone back to your good ol friends, the CARS characters. :)  It's nice how you really DO treat them like old friends.  It seems like Finn McMissile may just be your favorite character at this moment.. I mean, he has his own cool theme music and everything, right? :)

All the more reason to love Bath Time

Our house is very small. And so, some things got stored in Mummy and Daddy's "big" bathtub for a while.  I know, weird place, right? Oh well, that's how small our house is. : P

ANYWAY, it is a bigger bathroom than the "guest" bathroom that you had been taking baths in since you were a baby, and it has a WINDOW! Yes, I love natural light in the bathroom. It allows for plants, and plants in any room always makes things nicer.

You have always loved bath time, and now, there's the extra fun of MIRRORS and a bigger tub to splash in with your umpteen duckies!

Mash Up

I've all these photos and collages collected up for different posts, but I think I'm just going to try and fit them all into one post right here.

Let's see if I can organize my thoughts here...

Okay, so we have you playing.. which is actually some sort of "work" under the guise of play, but hey, isn't that how we learn the best?

We have these geometric shapes that we've used on and off, ( disregard the hot air balloon thingy in the photo above - mummy did that. LOL ), but you surprised me by putting different shapes together to make hexagons and whatnot!

Then you decided to build a fence with the green triangles and then hid the shapes in your PJs when you thought I wasn't looking. You were sooo busted. LOL

We were doing the letter J among other things, and for one of our crafts, you thought you wanted to make a picture of a clown JUGGLING rainbow colored balls.

We got these Sesame Street numbers memory matching game/flash cards at dittos a while ago, and you enjoyed the game, raising your arms triumphantly each time a match was made.

Also, you are getting more and more interested in dress-up, and maybe that'll ease us into trying to figure out what to get you for Halloween!

This is you doing your Buzz Lightyear puzzle, with what was supposed to have been MY Halloween mask from some years ago.  It got "lost" in the little house/store house and when it finally got unearthed, you claimed it for your own.

Here you are, asking to be Super Jaxon.  I got an old sheet protector thingy that we used when you were a baby, and tied it loosely  around your shoulders, and you proceeded to do all your superhero er, heroics in full caped capacity.

In this one, we were at Dollar Tree, and they had all the Halloween costumes on display. I asked if I could take a picture of you in your cowboy hat, and you said, "Wait, Mummy!" and went over to the flowers and grabbed a bunch before posing for your photos :)

There is seldom any activity, no matter how simple, that you don't just dive into with enthusiasm :)
Even shapes cut out of cheap dollar tree foam sheets provide lots of bath time fun :)

Slumber

I don't think we've been talking about sleep for a while on the blog, because you had pretty much settled into a nap in the afternoon, and then sleeping at night.

Then, about a month ago, you started resisting your afternoon naps, and would toss and turn for a bit before finally falling asleep in the late afternoon, and then you would stay awake till very late at night due to the late nap.

Anyway, for the last couple of weeks, we've forgone your nap on purpose.  We try to have a little bit of "down time" where you aren't running around like a crazy person, like watching a video or something with the curtains drawn, so you can at least recharge a little.

Then when it comes time to go to bed at night, we go through our little "rituals" of bathroom, reading, prayer etc, and you are out like a light in no time.

ad9abdaea

You sleep through the night, almost like a log, and wake up all smiley and raring to go, about 10 or 11 hours later :)
