Friends

I feel bad that I don't bring you out on play dates enough, that you are not interacting with enough kids your age and whatnot :(

So, when it was National Donut Day a few weeks back, we stopped by George's donut shop and said hi to them, as well as get a few donuts to celebrate. ( Yeah, right.. )

Anyway, you and Kareena have known each other since you were babies, and so it was a good time for you to catch up and play together for a bit.

She is half a year younger than you, but after overcoming her initial shyness, you guys were playing happily together :) Phew.

Scavenger Hunt around the Ol' Plantation

We were reading "The Salamander Room" last week, and part of the activities that we did was go on a scavenger hunt around our place.  So, early one morning, with clipboard and pencil in hand, we put our sleeves, caps and long pants on, and then we were off on a grand adventure.

You pretty much wanted me to take a picture of everything on the list and more, and it was amazing how much diversity you can find in a few acres, and we didn't even walk through that much of it.

We went out two mornings in a row, and you were pretty excited at checking off the er, checklist and even taking some pictures yourself!

American Ninja Warrior

I haven't watched any broadcast / satellite shows in real time for the longest time now, ( like, since you were born ) usually opting to watch it later when I can, on Hulu and whathaveyous.

However, while having dinner one day, we caught the premiere of American Ninja Warrior, and you were hooked.  I think this has very much to do with the fact that you have been playing "Clumsy Ninja" on your Nabi.

 

You look forward to Monday nights all week long and then count down the minutes to the show. :)

Then, as the show goes on, you sometimes do this hilarious running commentary, what with "Will he make it? We will find out when we come back!" and other super cute exhortations :) , not to mention all the ninja moves and mimicking the movements of all these super athletes doing the course.

Odds and Ends

 I have been using the phone on my camera way more these days, because it is so easy to snap a pic and then email it to Cindy.  It doesn't take the most wonderful of pictures in low light, but it sure has come in handy in sharing your day-to-day adventures with her :)

We have been doing our school work consistently, and have learned quite a bit of new stuff.  We did a unit on Amphibians and Reptiles, which you found to be very interesting, and are learning Chinese through a fun and enjoyable app we got. 

However, it IS "summer", and so little boys get to go out and romp through the sprinklers out in the yard, even if goggles are needed most of the time :)
