"First Day of School" - yes, in Quotation Marks.
This week marked a milestone for us.
I know we have been doing homeschool for AGES now,
but Monday was when children your age OFFICIALLY start Kindergarten.
So many thoughts, worries, aspirations and plans are running through my head, but I will set them aside for now and embrace the ever evolving sweet, kind, awesome little boy that you are.
Whenever we meet anyone and they ask what grade you are in, you would say, "I go to HomeSchool". Seriously, even I am not quite certain what grade level you should be in, we started this journey so long ago. You can read at several grades higher than you are, and your math skills astound me sometimes as well. But at the core of it, you are an amazing little boy with such curiosity and a thirst for learning and soaking everything up, even when we don't realise it.

Revisiting "The Old Schoolroom"
The RV is pretty much where we do schoolwork these days - free from distractions.
However, the air conditioner died at one point, and we had to bring school work back into your/my room in the house for a few days while the air con was being worked on. There is NO WAY one can be in a stifling RV for any amount of time during the day, in the summer.
A bunch of the letters ( from several years ago, when we were first learning the alphabet ) had fallen off, but the sentiment is still there. :)
AND you are quickly outgrowing your little table of yore/yours, that we got at the Dittos for Kiddos sale one year.

Just being a little boy
Okay then, let's recap.
In JUNE ( yes, JUNE! ), we did a bunch of stuff outdoors because the weather was nice, and the bugs were not out in force just yet...
ALAS, right now the temperature is in the 100s, and the gnats are eating us alive. *sigh*.
But back to happier outdoor memories....
I did post about playing in muddle puddles one other time, but we had a few pretty significant storms in June, and here's one where we even got your beach stuff and little sailboat out.
Yes, that there is a pretty big rut in our driveway. *sigh*
We brought ( and still bring ) Henry and Jasper for evening walks almost every day..
You went through a phase where you wanted to hold Henry's leash, which I gladly let you do. Right now, you ask to walk by yourself, exerting your independence. *sigh*
Usually when we got back from walking the dogs, we would kick the soccer ball around for a few minutes before going in for a bath/shower.
You went through a phase as well, where you wanted to be the goalie each time :)
One day, I got some old Sobe bottles and socks, and we went outside to blow sudsy snakes out on the yard. You thought that was super quaint and amusing.
And of course, it wouldn't be right NOT to put any suds on your head. :)
Check out the double barrel move. :)
Of course, we still read a lot - you like to have some of our library books in the car for when you are traveling down the road, and get me to rotate these out once in a while.
We haven't really taken much of a break as far as school work goes. I mean, we are pretty flexible with the hours and whatnot, and as long as we are consistent and learning along, and having a good time at it, I'm happy.

Summer 2014
Over the next few days, I'll be posting about a few of the things that we ( you ) did over the summer.
First off, we hadn't been over to the play area at the Mall for a while now. We happened to be thatt way because we had an appointment to have the windshield and quarter panel glass on our car changed - yeah, due to the infamous hail storm.
They had done a major revamp, and changed out the old apparatus and put in new equipment.
You couldn't wait to climb up and explore every new "animal" out there...
do lots of climbing and jumping,
work them hammy moves,
and the best part... making friends and playing with the other kids.

Cousins
We were over at Max and Jet's house about a week ago for Sabrina's birthday party. But we know what it's really about... for the cousins to get together and play! lol :)

School
Here's an assortment of things that we did, some of which you had requested we study, like Dinosaurs and Bugs :)
This week we are learning about our Solar System and there will be more photos on that soon.

Scaling new heights
This is a picture of you climbing up the spiral slide backwards at the playground . We had stopped by there after shopping at h e b. And you did it all by yourself without any help from daddy. Woohoo !
