Random School Happenings

These are just a jumble of things we did in the summer and fall, I lose track of when we did what - it's all recorded in the Jorte app anywayz.....

These are in no particular order AT ALL.

We learned about rocks and minerals, and went outside and collected different rock samples to analyse.

We learned about different habitats and what animals lived in the different ones, as well as adaptations that allowed them to survive.

We also did goofy crafts - your favorite kind :)

We do a lot of activities online to reinforce what we learn and I am thankful for all the resources out there.

We were doing a reading exercise or something, and you put some word cards together to make silly sentences.  You made "Dance, Spicy Mice" and proceeded to do a spicy mouse dance :)

If only I had these when I was a kid, I would probably been able to learn so much better. :)

For 4th July, we went online and "signed" the Declaration of Independence :)

Thanksgiving 2015

You had been looking forward to Thanksgiving, because you would get to see and play with the cousins and have a grand time, and basically you are just a little boy who is enthusiastic and exuberant and such a wonder to be with :)

You helped me make cranberry relish - one of your favorite things to do ( whenever the time of year comes along )

and we even managed to get in a mini lesson about cranberries and how they float and using our senses - you thought they were very tart but couldn't stop biting into them, screwing up your face with each bite, but then going at it again the next moment. :}

Then we got ready to bring our stuff to have lunch with the family, and you were delighted to be dressed in "Stampy Colors" and proceeded to find Stampy colors in just about everything after that..  :)

Fun Foods

A couple of days ago, you had some noodles, and you found a strand that was apparently

"The Longest Noodle EVER! Take a picture! Take a picture!!!!!"

Not to mention the most SLURPALICIOIUS!

The Operatic Experience

We're on a musical binge!

Or not.

BUT ANYWAY, we were at the Abilene Civic Center today to watch ( the abbreviated verstion of ) a production of Hansel and Gretel by ACU Opera group.

We've never watched live opera, but there was a powerpoint presentation off to the side with the lyrics, so we weren't quite so lost with all the sopranic gusto that was going on.

It was a shortened version of the opera, and so we managed to have our attentions held for 40 minutes, no problem.

Great Job, ACU Opera!

Oh, and the next event that we will be looking forward to after Thanksgiving would be the downtown Christmas Parade followed by the lighting of the tree, which is already up!

Jaxon : A Row

Mommy : What do you call the line of blocks that goes from top to bottom?

Jaxon : A Colliseum.

Happy HallowBean

I haven't gotten all the Halloween pics together as of yet, but I'm working on it. 

Meanwhile, here are picture of when we were at the Bean on Sunday for lunch, and you had lots of fun with the balloons they had left over from their HallowBEAN celebrations - being a big punster yourself, you got a kick outta that. :)

Minecraft Mania

Daddy was at United Supermarkets the other day and noticed that they had little Minecraft Mystery Boxes on sale for 50 cents a box ! We came away with a mini haul, and you have been opening them slowly over the last couple of weeks ( because frankly, we didn't manage to get THAT many of them ).

Anyway, you asked me to take some photos of a couple of the figurines that you got, and I thought I would make a mini gif/movie out of it. Mwahahahahhaha
