Guess who got a visit from the Tooth Fairy last night? :)

Here's the last day when you still had all 20 milk/baby teeth, albeit with one being VERY wobbly...

I was walking back into the RV from the house, and as I was coming in, you jumped up from the bench, shouting, "MOMMY! MY TOOTH! IT FELL OUT!"

Butterflies in the Springtime

We have done insects and butterflies before, but the Saturday before last was "Learn about Butterflies Day", and so we revisited the theme with some crafts .

You love doing crafts and had lots of fun.

  

We also played with paints and did some work on Symmetry. You were quite thrilled to see how the colors ran together and how it transfered over after we folded the paper and squished it down.

To trap a Leprechaun

One of the activities we did for St. Patrick's Day was build a simple Leprechaun trap.  

We thought up the idea together, rigged a box with a chopstick, some yarn and some loot ( fake gold doubloons ) as bait.

Even though we had discussed it, you still were NOT quite convinced that we wouldn't actually catch one.  You hid under a chair, waiting for a few minutes but then I guess the monotony of waiting got a little too much.

We strung the string out to the living area so that you could still yank it when the time came.

Later in the evening, we got ready to go out and as we were leaving you suddenly said , "But Mommy, what if the leprechaun gets my stuff while we are gone???!!"

*grin*

I hope you retain your sense of wonder for as long as you possibly can, if not throughout your life.

Shrunken Heads Update

Ta Da! I present to you the (semi) dried apple er, puppet heads!

I think I'm way more intrigued and fascinated by these than you are, honestly.  You're just kinda like, "meh".  You LOVED the carving with a plastic knife part, but not so much the wrinkling part.  You DID say, however, that they smelled like raisins. LOL!

The Girl Next Door

Technically speaking, she is the grand daughter of the man next door, but still. She is a couple of weeks younger than you and she has 2 wiggly teeth! I can't believe how in this photo, you look so much bigger than she does. ( Although, she does look like quite the young lady with her cute bob and earrings!)

You have missed playing with Maddie (5) and her brother Carson (8) over the winter months because they hadn't been over to their Grandad's that much, and it has been cold so they haven't been out and about.

Now that the weather is warmer, the kids are out in full force.

Over Spring Break, they came and spent a few days with their Grandad next door.  You got to play with them, jump on trampolines and play hide and seek :)

I'm sure we will have plenty of opportunities to play with them as the weather warms up, but every time we tell you it is time to go, you look so crestfallen, like you'll never see them again :)

If you ask me, I think they can't wait to play with you again either!

An update on the tooth

The tooth has since gotten way wigglier and you can't help wiggling it with your tongue. 

A couple of times now you have accidentally crunched down on something harder and yelped a little but mostly it doesn't bother you much.

It is darling, though to see your eyes open real wide and you whisper to me, "Mommy.... my first wiggly tooth! How exciting!"

Shrunken Apple Heads

Okay, the title sounds a little morbid, but we're reading about Johnny Appleseed and apples this week.

I know a lot of people like to do Apples and Johnny in the fall, i.e. Septemberish, but I thought, oh what the hey, some people celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day in March anywayz.

So... we got a few of the squishier older apples and peeled them - you LOVED the peels, by the way - and started carving.

We dunked them in a salt/lemon juice mixture and now they are drying in the oven.  I'll post how they look like once it's done! :)

School Time Shenanigans

Adventures in Babysitting

We were over at Walter's and Amy's yesterday evening to babysit baby Wyatt for a few hours.  You love playing with him and were a very helpful little boy indeed. Wyatt laughed at your antics and you guys sure had fun and made the time just fly past.

Child-Speak

Daddy : Wow, look at all those cars parked in that parking lot!
Mommy : It's "Planet Fitness"
Daddy : What are ALL those people doing at Planet Fitness?
Jaxon : Maybe they're getting fitted.
Daddy & Mommy : 😜
