Hurray for Beatrix Potter and her adorable pictures and such Englishness in her prose.
And THEN, we have Fluffy and Binky.
AND Tom Angleberger and Dav Pilkey.
Oh, and how can we forgo Patricia Polacco and Paul Goble?
I know I should have put this up there with the other Beatrix Potter books, but since it is here, I am too lazy to move it up.
And then, there are the others on a variety of subjects.
We also started getting more into the swing of things after taking it a lot slower during the Summer.
There wasn't really any Summer Slump for you, though.
Of course, you keep yourself amused any way you can. Just look at the picture below.
You've also been playing a few educational games on my laptop at my little 'puter nook.
You have been keeping busy with your imagination and continuing your comic book authoring/drawing. You come up with the most creative characters and stories.
I got this book at Dittos for Kiddos some time back, and thought I would take it out and tackle it during the summer.
It is a pretty old book, but other than having some pretty presumptuous ideals, it was quite a decent review of stuff we had learned previously.
We did these few pages this week, and even THIS book knows what's what when it comes to America being multicultural and a melting pot of different peoples.
WE ARE ALL AMERICANS, DANGIT!
This is the way we study Spanish in Homeschool.
We also continued Oliver K's journey with some Craftiness,
and learned a little bit more about using an Atlas.
You are quite the quick learner.
Also, the boys were here this week again. YAYAY!!!!!
We saw a biplane fly close to us getting the mail,
walked the dog a few times,
and the highlight of the week was most likely when we attended the party organized by the Library to celebrate everyone who had participated in the Summer Reading Club.
There were temporary tattoos,
a fishing booth with an entire backpack-full of goodies, among which was this crazy triceratops mask that you wore half the time we were out there.
You got to decorate your own little kite craft,
( while soaking in the views and sounds from the Zoo right next to us )
listen in on story telling time,
play with soap bubbles,
do an obstacle course,
do the bean bag toss thingy,
and culminating in a tug-of-war with the other kids - it ended up being a boys vs girls situation though.
Then, we skipped on next door to the Splash Pad and had some impromptu water park fun. :)
