Grade 2 Week 26

An Uneventful Week?? I dunno, maybe. Lotsa stuff going on at home, and we sneak school in when we can.

One of the pluses of Homeschooling is that we can have 365 days of school. Even on days that we don't have "formal" "sit-down" school, we are still learning from everything around us, aye?

Speaking of Sneaking, we have a Serial Scribbler in our midst.
Someone keeps sneaking messages onto my grocery lists.

Wonder who it is.......

Grade 2 Week 25

This is from way back in early February.  I borrowed Ethel and Ernest after we watched the animated adaptation of it, and fell in love with the story.

You, on the other hand, continue to read a wide range of subjects, and I am so grateful to have access to a library to feed that voracity.

At this point, we were still talking about famous African American figures in our history, and you enjoyed drawing posters of them.
We also experimented with Oil Pastels.

You do not limit your creativity to just the home.  Whenever we are at Bible Class, you would grab a marker and start drawing.  More often than not, you listen to the conversation that is going on in the background, and sort of illustrate our thoughts on the whiteboard.

This photo seems random, but it is actually your spider made from Q-tips and some Blu Tack.

We made some muffin, and as we all know, you love to help me bake. The whole hands-on thing is a big thrill to you.

When the rewards are as yummy as this, who wouldn't be enthusiastic.

We managed to get in some play time at the indoor play area at the nearby church,

as well as find time to get tangled up in daddy's t shirt.

A friend revisited

We hadn't seen Maddie in a while because her family moved to a different town and she wasn't able to come see her Grandad, who lives next door to us, much.

So, we were so delighted when her Grandad told us that her family was moving back to Abilene, and that she was able to come to your birthday party!

Which brings us to our photos for this post, which I have had, lingering around on my hard drive for almost a year now, waiting to be posted, but somehow always got neglected.

Here we go, photos from almost a year ago, where we went by next door to visit, and you got to play with Maddie :)

Birthday Posts

Look HERE, and HERE and HERE.

At this moment, Photobucket has lost some of my photos since their last "maintenance update", but I have contacted them, and hopefully I won't have to do some duplication work.
