I'm so chock full of hormones right now that I cry at all kinds of stuff.
Not just the "Oh, that's so sad" kind of crying, but also the "awwww that's sooo precious" or "that was a sweet thing to do" kind of 'happy crying'
Like today, I was watching the cooking channel, and I started crying over this lady chef who had kids over to help her prepare lunch. And then, I changed the channel just as Jon & Kate Plus 8 was starting, and they were doing an episode where the family was going to disneyland, and THAT'S when the all the floodgates broke loose. I was a mess, watching the mom and dad in their good humored way ( most of the time ) deal with the twins and the sextuplets, and the kids enjoying themselves on the trips, and all the tantrums and smiles and cheers and shrieks..
Forget about the family at the theme park... what a rollercoaster ride it was for ME!

Mix Up and Postponement
The ultrasound specialist's office called up yesterday and said that there had been a mix up with the appointment dates because the Dr. was not supposed to see me until I was about 18 - 20 weeks. And this week I'm just 13 + weeks. So they made me a new appointment for the end of November.
GAH THAT'S TOO LONG MORE TO GO!!!
The family is disappointed that we won't know the baby's gender till that much later and I'd been sooo looking forward to this visit that I even had a dream about it last night.
In the dream, we had gone for our appointment, and were made to wait for so long that the Hubs and I decided to step out for a breather. It was right THEN that they decided they would call us in. Of course we were not around and so we missed our turn... BAH! Later on, we bump into the doctor and he hands me a little play doh baby which fit in the palm of my hand.
He said that he felt bad that we didn't get to "see" our baby this time, and so he had made a replica of what the baby would have looked like at this stage of development, for us.

The dream was a little creepy, but obviously not as creepy as the cute but kinda weird "chocolate" baby above, but it still sucks to have to wait that much longer.
Bleh.

Ouch...
I started getting these "catches" especially on the right side of my lower abdomen almost immediately into the pregnancy, but now that I'm in the second trimester and things are starting to REALLY stretch, I get them more often. Yeah, I'm talking about round ligament pain... I usually get it if I suddenly stretch up on tippy toes to get something, or make a sudden turn in bed. Usually it's just a sudden stretching catch, and then it's over.Talk about growing pains.

13 weeks + 1 Day and counting
I've always been a worry wort about a lot of things even thought I know I shouldn't and that I should trust the Lord to protect and provide... but I have more than doubled my efforts at trying to study for the USMLEs so that you, my little darling, will have little to want for, or worry about. I have been a sloth for so long that it will take much energy on my part, but all you need to think about is growing big and strong and healthy, and I even look forward to when I can feel you moving around in my tummy...what a glorious and miraculous thing that would be. Your daddy would just absolutely have his socks knocked off the first time he feels that.

We're doing good.
It doesn't seem like I've gained any weight as yet ( though my waist and lower tummy beg to differ ), and BP was good at 115/65. We heard your heartbeat again, and it was a good strong heartbeat at 166 beats per minute, and at some points when the doctor was trying to find your heartbeat, there were some "swooshing" sounds, which the doctor said was YOU MOVING AROUND!
How neat is that? Your dad couldn't believe it :)
Next up is the visit with the OBGYN/Maternal & Fetal Medicine/Medical Genetics specialist for a detailed Ultrasound Scan, and we'll get to see how much you've grown!
