First of all, we thought we would go by the one Splash Pad that we hadn't been to yet ( other than the Nelson Park one, which we went to when you were younger, but is under renovation at the moment ), and you agreed that you wanted to try it out.
When we got there, you jumped out and headed right for it. We had told you beforehand that it didn't have a slide like some of the others, but you said you didn't mind.
Well, less than a minute later, you were saying you had changed your mind and if we could please go to one that had slides. :) It wasn't just as exciting, I suppose, if all you had to do was run around and get drenched, when you have had a taste of the other. Besides, the water pressure at this park during the time we were there, seemed to be less than full strength, making it just that much less enjoyable, I suppose.
So we packed up, and off we went to another one that DID have slides.
It, however, was quite covered over by a group of young girls about your age or younger. You were very patient with them, as they were super boisterous and rambunctious...... until they kept pushing under your arms to jump line and get in front of you to get down the slide.
I saw that you were getting distressed and called you over to ask what the matter was.
"I had to wait THREE WHOLE MINUTES to get on the slide!", was your reply in a trembling voice.
Poor baby. You were too sweet and just let them shove their way through.
Daddy and I proceeded to give you some advice about firmly standing your ground and keeping your place in line without being mean or rude or shoving.
After a few failed attempts at squeezing under your armpits to cut through, the "perpetrators" finally learned to let you go first and wait their turn. :)
Who would've thunk.
Such Drama at the Splash Pad.
