Noodles and Baked Fish, Ramen with Shrimp Boil leftovers, Rice n Curry n Chicken, Chicken Noodle Casserole with Chicken Drumstick, Red Beans and Rice with Apples, Fried Rice with Dumplings, Chicken Pho with Egg Rolls 

Height at 13 yrs , 6 months, 2 weeks, 4 days.

 

We did it at home by ourselves with a metal yard stick, but we DID measure twice, AND taking into account the fluffy hair and all, and came up with 71 1/2 inches, or  5 feet 11 1/2 inches.

All decked out in your cycling gear again. Have to have those long sleeves and pants, as well as gloves, to protect against the harsh sun.  I also insist that you wear a baseball cap under your helmet to protect your face.

It has been too long and I cannot remember why you have all your biking gear on, but are instead, walking..... Did the bike have a problem? Did you just change your mind and want to walk instead? I have no idea.

Things Chinese

I haven't been the most Chinese-y of all mothers, and definitely far from Tiger Mom-dom, but I DO try to expose you to some cultural aspects of being Chinese.

When I was growing up, I was labeled a Banana - Yellow on the outside and White on the Inside.

I could speak and understand Cantonese because that was what I had to use to communicate with my relatives - especially Our Grandparents who lived with us, but that was about it. Our parents spoke to us in English.

I only learned Mandarin and Hokkien for real, when I first entered University where 99 percent of the Chinese people I was around, spoke those languages, and it immediately became Instant Immersion Language Learning for me. 

ANYWAY, whatever Chinese Culture I have in me, I hope to at least impart some of that to you.

Plus, you LOVE mooncakes, anyway :)
